THOSE TIMES WILL COME AGAIN

Shall we embrace first?
My arms locked under yours,
My chest heaving with sobs of joy,
Counting
Every heartbeat, yours revived again;
Mine almost out of breath.

Shall we fall to the ground?
Cushioned in the comfort of the green beneath
The sun above bestowing its blessings in rays.
As we throw back our heads,
Clutching
Our sides ripped so hard with laughter;
Smiles, spreading like oceans without a shore.

Shall we tell our stories?
All through the night, talking
Almost non-stop. My words tumble forth
Chattering
Like you may step away for the briefest moment;
And I would forget to say the most important things.

Shall I tell you about the years?
How you were missed and I cried. I love you and I care.
No need to hurry now for we have forever
Countless
Years without end to tell and listen;
To learn, and grow, and love, and live.
